class PhysicalFactor(*values)[source]

Bases: StrEnum

A neutral, scalar physical/physiological environment variable.

NOT a compound, NOT a consequence word. Temperature is deliberately ABSENT – it is carried on Environment.temperature (single canonical encoding, M2), never duplicated as a perturbation.

nutrient_dropout: a normally-present medium nutrient is REMOVED (amino-acid or vitamin drop-out). The removed nutrient is named on the perturbation’s agent Compound (e.g. L-lysine), so a dropout joins on the SAME compound entity a dataset that ADDS that nutrient would use.
radiation: ionizing/UV irradiation dose (magnitude in the dose unit when released; qualitative when only ‘irradiated’ is reported).
dissolved_oxygen: a dissolved-oxygen setpoint the culture is held at (magnitude the released value in its released unit, e.g. Public K-12’s aerobic(30% DO) as 30 percent), beside Environment.aerobicity, which states the regime the setpoint holds (#1045).
