check_manifest(manifest: BuildManifest, surface: SchemaSurface, preprocess_dir: str) → StaleResult

Compare a manifest’s stored fingerprints against the current local schema surface.

A manifest without perturbation_leaves (written under manifest schema version 1) is stale too: the preflight reads the store’s leaves off that field, and a store with no measured leaves cannot be checked against its conf’s lanes. The same holds for content_id_collisions (version 2 and earlier): the preflight reads the store’s collision count off that field, and a store that never measured it could carry the silent record loss of lane Q’s four datasets unseen.
