Composition edges pointing UP from a lane into the experiment lane.

The ontology is a DAG with a declared direction: an experiment composes a genotype, an environment and a phenotype, never the reverse. A phenotype that composed an experiment would make the record self-referential and would break every content-addressed node id (the phenotype’s hash would depend on the experiment’s, which depends on the phenotype’s).
