Z’-factor between two colony populations (assay separation window).

Z' = 1 - 3*(sd_a + sd_b) / |mean_a - mean_b|. >0.5 excellent, 0-0.5 usable, <0 no separation. Uses the two most-separated groups to measure the window the assay actually offers.
