heterozygous_deletion_functional_copies(background: EukaryoticStrainBackground, perturbation: HeterozygousDeletionPerturbation) → int | None[source]

Functional copies left at the deleted locus, respecting the background.

In a diploid background with no allele at the locus the answer is 1 (the usual HIP haploinsufficiency case). Where the background is already null on both copies (BY4743 his3Δ1/his3Δ1) it is 0, before and after. Where the background is heterozygous (LYS2/lys2Δ0) it depends on which allele the cassette replaced: 1 if replaced_allele names the null background allele, 0 if it names anything else (the functional copy). None means the record does not determine it: the background is heterozygous at the locus and replaced_allele is unset.
